Courses offered
Mandaka Teachers College offers Certificate (Diploma) and Diploma programs in Education as follows:
- Certificate in Early Childhood Education
- Certificate in Primary Education
- Diploma in Secondary Education with specializations in Biology and Home Economics, History and Geography, Kiswahili, and English
- Special Diploma in Secondary Education with specializations in Chemistry, Food and Human Nutrition, and Education (CNE); Biology, Food and Human Nutrition, and Education (BNE).
Certificate in Early Childhood Education
A 2 years program
- Completion of Form IV with Division I, II and III
- Priority given to candidates who passed Science, Mathematics, and English subjects.
Certificate in Primary Education
A 2 years program
- Completion of Form IV with Division I, II and III
- Priority given to candidates who passed Mathematics, English, and Science subjects.
Diploma in Secondary Education
A 2 years program
- Completion of Form VI with at least two Principal Passes in subjects taught in Secondary Schools (Forms I-IV).
Special Diploma in Secondary Education
A 3 years program
- Completion of Form IV with Division I-III, with at least a "C" grade in three subjects, two of which must be in the specialization area applied for.
NOTE
- For the Special Diploma in Secondary Education, the three subjects must include two from the chosen specialization area.
- The subjects offered for the Special Diploma at the college include Chemistry, Biology, and Food and Human Nutrition.
